Welcome to the website gallery of Sandra Schwarzbeck. The jewelry and home decor collections are designed by me and handcrafted in glass, often with embellishments of fine and sterling silver.
The pieces on this site are fused or kiln-formed glass.
This process is often referred to as "Warm Glass" as opposed to "Hot Glass" which is often "cold-worked" which is grinding and polishing outside of the kiln.
Most of the glass jewelry on these pages includes a special kind of glass called dichroic glass. Dichroic glass has thin layers of metallic oxides, such as titanium, silicon and magnesium that are deposited on the surface in a high temperature vacuum. This creates a beautiful coating on the glass that reflects more than one color when viewed at different angles and in varying light and backgrounds.
